Pelham High School honored Dabo Swinney, PHS Class of 1988, at a Jersey Retirement Ceremony during the school’s home football game on August 30, 2019.

Dabo Swinney is one of Pelham High School’s most notable alumni. Swinney has been the Head Football Coach at Clemson University since 2008. Swinney has directed Clemson to a career record of 117-30, and he is the first coach in Clemson history to lead the Tigers to multiple national championships. Coach Swinney lettered in three sports at Pelham High School. He is the first former Pelham High School football player to have his number retired.

Coach Swinney spoke to the crowd for over 12 minutes. His pride in being from Pelham left us feeling grateful for our roots and inspired to put in the work to follow our dreams.
