Indoor Track

The Pelham High School Indoor Track team enjoyed an incredible indoor season. Several school records went down, athletes were nationally ranked in their events, many underclassmen had standout performances and our upperclassmen dominated the track. The men’s team had a 4th place finish at state, their highest ever ranking in school history.  And, the women’s team brought home another State Runners up trophy to Pelham.

Both teams were highlighted by several outstanding performances throughout the season and at the state championships. Junior standout Erin Long finished 2nd in the Pentathlon and a top 10 ranking the United States. Katie Strozier was State Champion in the 800 and 1600m, and the girls 4x800 relay of Katie Strozier, Alex Wilkins, Madi Dubose, and Brooke Monti took state gold while setting a new school record.  Individual State Runners up included Alex Wilkins in the 1600, Sarah Guthrie in the Long jump and Adam Keller in the 3200. Both the women’s 4x400 relay of Anna Wilkes, Natalie Jamison, Jackelin Ruiz, and Jordan Williams, and the men’s 4x800 relay of Adam Keller, TJ Gennari, Dominic Fanella, and Marcus Bell were also State Runners up.

The season saw several school records fall.  Katie Strozier beat Pelham alum and sister Mary Grace Strozier’s previous best in the 800, the women’s 4x800 Relay took down the best time from a few years ago, and Adam Keller improved on his own school records in both the 1600 and 3200. Senior standout TJ Gennari had a huge PR in the 800 setting a new PHS best, and the men’s 4x800 relay smashed the school record twice indoors.

In PPMS Indoor Track 8th grader Ana Bravo placed 2nd in high jump at the Indoor Championship, and 7th grader Ra-Sen Martin set a new school record in boys pole vault.
