Anna Nicholson serves as the mental health coordinator for Pelham City Schools.
In 2020, the Alabama State Department of Education funded the position of mental health coordinator in 102 school districts statewide. The purpose of this role is to ensure students have access to high-quality mental health prevention, early intervention, and treatment resources. In her role, Nicholson coordinates mental health services and works to make those resources accessible to Pelham City Schools students and their families.
Prior to serving as the mental health coordinator, Nicholson worked as the school-based mental health therapist for Pelham City Schools. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in social work from The University of Alabama and is licensed as an independent clinical social worker.
